We're extremely sorry for the total radio silence since August of 2007. Life, as it so often enjoys doing, rather got in the way and interfered with the inauspicious and premature launch of our inaugural issue. Everything's back on track now, though, and we've returned to the original launch date of June 15th. Submissions are still being accepted, due by May 10th. If you've submitted to Scorched Ink and haven't received a response, you should hear back from us by the end of March. If you haven't received acceptance or rejection of your submission by April 1st, please e-mail editor@scorchedink.com to make sure that your submission was received.

In addition, there have been changes to the contract; the fixed pay scale is still in place, but royalty payout dates are now every six months, coinciding with the preset publication dates of each issue; this is to make bookkeeping a bit easier and to ensure no delays in payouts from having to take the time to calculate them every months. A new contract image will be uploaded to the FAQ shortly.
